Best MLB prop bets today (Alek Manoah will have big game vs. Tigers)
We went 2-1 with my MLB prop bets last night , hitting the two strikeout props but missing out on the long shot home run wager.
Let’s try to run it back today with another two strikeout props and a bet on someone to hit a dinger.
Let’s dive into them.
MLB prop bets for Tuesday, April 11th
- Alek Manoah OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-145)
- Shohei Ohtani UNDER 7.5 strikeouts (+105)
- Ryan McMahon to hit a Home Run (+380)
Alek Manoah OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-145)
Alek Manoah is only averaging 7.0 strikeouts per nine innings this season, but I expect some positive regression in that area after averaging 8.2 last season.
Tonight is a good night for him to take a step in the right direction when it comes to strikeouts as he and the Blue Jays get ready to take on the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have the second highest strikeout rate in baseball this season, striking out on 27% of their plate appearances.
I think Manoah can record at least seven strikeouts in tonight’s start.
Shohei Ohtani UNDER 7.5 strikeouts (+105)
Shohei Ohtani taking on the Washington Nationals seems like an easy lay up of a bet for him to go over his strikeout total, right? Wrong.
Nationals, for as bad as they are, do a great job of not striking out. In fact, they rank second in the Majors in strikeout percentage, striking out only 17.7% of their plate appearances.
Ohtani went over this total in his first two starts this season, but I think tonight is a good time to fade his strikeout total, especially at plus-money.
Ryan McMahon to hit a Home Run (+380)
My home run bet for the night is going to be Ryan McMahon of the Colorado Rockies.
He gets to take on Miles Mikolas tonight, who has the worst batting average of any pitcher at Coors Field since 2002.
Sure, batting average doesn’t always translate to home runs, but we know we’re going to get bats on balls tonight and that’s enough to justify a sprinkle on McMahon to go yard.
